Freestanding Handstand Push-ups: How to Do It and When to Progress
- Elite

How to do it
Kick up into a freestanding handstand, hands shoulder-width, body tight. Lower your head with control until it almost touches the floor, keeping your balance through your fingers. Press back up until your arms are straight, and turn out to the side like a cartwheel when needed.
Target range
Aim for 1 to 3 reps in each set.
Where it fits
Step 6 in the Handstand Push-up progression, which runs from easier to harder. This is its hardest step.
