Box Pistol Squats: How to Do It and When to Progress
- Intermediate

How to do it
Stand on one leg in front of a bench or box, the other leg straight out in front, arms forward as a counterweight. Sit down with control until you just touch the box. Push back up through your whole foot and switch sides after all reps.

Target range
Aim for 5 to 8 reps per side in each set.
Ready for the next step
When you reach 8 reps in every set, you are ready for the next level: Pistol Squats.
Where it fits
Step 5 in the Single-Leg Squat progression, which runs from easier to harder.
